What is House Hazards
Household Hazardous Waste is any product that meets one or more of the characteristics and is generated in small quantities, typically 5 gallons or less. Hazardous Waste is any product that meets one or more of the characteristics:
- Corrosive/Caustic - can burn and destroy living tissue.
- Flammable/Combustible - can be easily ignited
- Reactive/Explosive - can detonate or explode through heat exposure, sudden shock or change in pressure.
- Radioactive - can damage and destroy cells and chromosomal materials.
- Toxic/Poisonous - can cause injury or death through ingestion, inhalation or absorption.

- Batteries - automotive and rechargeable household batteries (NO ALKALINE)
- Cleaners
- Cooking Oils
- Herbicides, Insecticides and Pesticides
- Motor oil and fluids
- Paints and stains
- Sealant
- Smoke detectors and fire extinguishers
- Televisions and Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT) - Limit 3 (in any combination) per household, per day. Minimum Charge Is Applicable.
No Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLS) or Styrofoam Is Accepted.
